She’s No Angel

October 31, 2010 in 9-12, emotional, family

she’s no angel, well when I brought this book it reminds me of myself!  This is a book from a author we have not yet had her name is Ann Bryant.  She writes book about all sorts of things and this in particular book is out of a set called ‘step chain’. You don’t need to read them in a certain order. I have read this book first, out of the set and it is great. I couldn’t stop thinking ‘who would do such a thing’ and ‘what will happen now’.  I have loved every word of this book and I’m sure you will to.

I don’t have a step-brother or step-sister, but I really felt sorry for Lizzie.  I felt like I was standing next to Lizzie the main character as her step-brother and step-sister get spoilt by her mum and step-dad and she is getting dejected!  Normally she can cope for the weekend but now she has to stay for a fought night as her dad is going away with his girlfriend.  When her half-sister turns on her charms and her half-brother Toby copies her, her mum thinks there adoring and I’m being mean. I feel so relived to meet Ollie who’s dad is my half brothers and sisters but a different mum.  He is the only person who knows how I feel.  I have one thing that really matters to me and that is my cello. I dream of winning the school competitions and am know old enough to enter and also I’m in the school choir.

Kasper the prince of cats

July 28, 2010 in animals, emotional

Kasper the prince of cats is a extremely emotional book and you feel true passion for the characters.  The twists are unimaginable and they still surprise me after reading the book at least 10 times!  I’m sure you will enjoy it as much as have done and still do. Michel Morpurgo is a truly amazing writer with a second sense for books! good luck at your reading everyone i hope this has inspired you to read the book.

Goggle eyes, a strange name for a book.  You may not be able to understand why it was called that but to me it is so meaningful and emotional that even I couldn’t stop a tear escaping down my cheek.  To understand the title and what I am talking about you really need to read the book.  We all love Anne Fine’s books and are thrilled to put one of her books on our website.  I hope reading this has inspired you to read Goggle eyes and some of her other fantastic books.

Vicky Angel

June 5, 2010 in 9-12, emotional

Well you can’t get a more emotional book than this.

Poor Vicky, she has a terribly tragic accident but that will never break her special friendship with her best friend and main character Jade.  Vicky is a very strong character, and even death won’t stop her from living her life to the full extent.  Jade is so used to following what Vicky says that even when Vicky is dead she still tries to please her!  But Jade doesn’t always want to do what Vicky says, especially when Vicky is making her lose any other friends she has.  Jade is concentrating on listening to Vicky that her work starts to drop.  This book is a over flowing with emotion, Even I couldn’t stop a tear escaping down my cheek!

Little Darlings

May 5, 2010 in 9-12, emotional, teen

Awesome,

what a amazingly emotional book!  I feel for the characters as they face difficult problems.  I also feel happy for the characters as they have there dreams come true.  Destiny and Sunset have two completely different live but yet are so similar and they both wonder why.  Well with Danny Killman as a farther things couldn’t get any better for  Sunset until she meets Destiny, but are they really sisters or are Destiny and her mum making it up because they want Sunsets and her families money?  This book has lots of different meanings and I think its written EXTREMELY well by a number one author: Jacqueline Wilson!

We recommend this book to 9 – 12 year olds,

(If you are younger and you wish to read this book then you should check with your parent or guardian.)

Please leave a comment about which character you prefer out of Destiny and Sunset and why by simply clicking on the title = Little Darlings.
